CHILDBIRTH IN THE 21ST CENTURY – EDUCATION, CARE & HUMAN RIGHTS (INTERNATIONAL VISEGRAD FUND)

www.visegradfund.org

Description of the project:

The main goal of the project is to open discussions and dialogue among V4 countries and create a platform to share experience in childbirth care, compare the best practice and help make childbirth for women as respectful and safe as possible, with regard to the needs of women and new-borns.

The creation of the platform for a debate should start with a conference on new trends and tendencies in obstetrics, with an active part of healthcare professionals – doctors, midwives, psychologists, therapists, and doulas, as well as involved public sector representatives.

Another part of the project is to create a touring exhibition on obstetrics for healthcare professionals and lay public, with visuals of the birthing rooms – current onesand ideal in the 21st century.

Thus, our aim is to raise awareness in doulas activities, foster cooperation amongst midwives, obstetricians, doulas, hospitals and relevant public sector bodies.
